About the college
The Bengaluru School of Visual Arts (Evening) is a visual arts college affiliated to the Bangalore Central University. The evening college is conveniently located in the centre of Bengaluru city, within the verdant campus of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. The college works from Monday through Saturday from 4.30 P.M. to 9.00 P.M.
The college offers both Bachelor of Visual Arts and Master of Visual Arts degrees in the following specialized disciplines: painting, sculpture, graphic art, applied art and art history. The college curriculum and syllabus is designed to cater primarily to working professionals who hold day jobs in the city and to mothers with young children. Eligibility criteria for each course are specified in the section that follows. Each course offers a wide variety of core courses and exciting electives with much interdisciplinary interaction, supplemented by frequent workshops by expert artists and craftspersons.
We encourage working professionals from various occupational backgrounds and age groups to join our Foundation course. The one year Foundation course is common to all of our Bachelor of Visual Arts students, who are expected to choose their discipline of specialization by the end of the first year. To join the Master of Visual Arts course, a basic BVA/BFA degree is a pre-requisite
